Support Group Meetings
CLA Network News—We had a wonderful visit with Carol Sullivan from North Shore Technical High School and are planning a visit to their restaurant, The Log Bridge Inn as well as their cosmetology department in March. The date has not been set yet. We are shooting for the 28th and as soon as North Shore Tech resumes from their school vacation, I will have a confirmation on that date. Be sure and call the Senior Center if you have not heard from me. We also started a walking group sign up among some of the group members. Our next meeting will be on March 21st between 10:00-10:30am. ** We all decided we liked the knitting room better as a place to meet so please go to that room on the 21st!
Low Vision Support Group— We had a very informative visit from Derek Lessieur from the Lowell Association for the Blind. He called me this week to say he will be coming by in a few weeks with the radios he promised us, so sit tight! He did not forget about us. I am waiting to hear from Lana Thelan from The Perkins Library to come and speak to us regarding their lending library and some exciting changes to their programs. Our next meeting is on March 5th . Please drop into the center for lunch and come right to the large meeting room afterwards. We will be making a ‘road trip’ in April to Adaptive Technology in Salisbury. More to come on that one!
Bereavement, Loss and Change Support Groups—Tuesdays, 4-5pm with Jim Burns and Wednesdays, 2:30pm—4pm with Nancy Downey.
DCOA Golf League
There will be a kick off meeting for the DCOA Golf League on Tuesday, April 8th at 10am in the Great Room at the Danvers Senior Center. This will be an organizational meeting to discuss how the league will be run in 2008. If you have any ideas about how the league should operate, would like to help run the league, or just want to socialize; this is the meeting for you. One concern for discussion is the July picnic. Is it worth the expense, should we look for a cheaper alternative or eliminate it entirely? If you cannot attend the meeting and have some thoughts on changes you would like to see, or were not a member last year and want to join, please contact David Tapparo at 978-777-0028 or djtapparo@aol.com

We are pleased to announce the success once again of the Dine Around Town program. This program has been very successful, with a sold out crowd every month. As most everyone has been to at least one, The Dine Around Town is now open “first come-first served” as it appears that we now have more people on a wait list than first time diners. So on the first business day of the month, make sure you come in and get your ticket as it sells out fast! Please be sure to patronize the fine restaurants that have participated in this program.
