ANNUAL LOBSTER ROLL FUNDRAISER POSTPONED
The Annual Lobster Roll Fundraiser for July 17th has been postponed until August. We will be putting the new date in the August Newsletter.

NOTE: Thursday, July 3rd the Senior Center will be closing at 1pm in observance of Independence Day. The center will be closed all day on Friday July 4th. Have a happy and safe holiday! Enjoy the fireworks!

Kiwanis Club Road Race & Walk
The Kiwanis Club of Danvers is hosting its 24th Annual 5 -mile Road Race and 2-
mile Walk on Friday, June 27th at 6:30 PM at Danvers High School on Cabot Rd.
Registration on race day begins at 5:00 PM in the high school cafeteria. Entry fees
for Walk participants is $7.00 and a portion of proceeds benefits The Kiwanis Pediatric
Trauma Institute. We invite the Walkers of the Danvers Senior Center to participate.

SAVE THE DATE Annual Family Festival Senior Picnic
Tuesday, July 1, 2008 from 11:30am to 3:00pm
Danvers Senior Center

Please join us this year as we celebrate Family Festival Week at our Annual Senior Picnic.
Menu will include: hamburgers, hot dogs, homemade baked beans, cole slaw, watermelon and lemonade. Entertainment Allen Labella. Cost $5.00pp. Tickets available June 9th and must be purchased in advance.

September 10, 2008 Cookout
Heritage at Danvers Menu will consist of Sirloin steak, BBQ chicken breast, Asian ribs, Cole slaw, Potato salad, Corn on the cob and Fruit trifle. Seating will be limited to 50. There is no charge for this event. Transportation will be available with advance registration. Please sign up at the front desk.

Tips for Seniors: Stay Cool During Hot, Humid Weather

Podiatrist, Dr. Wayne McCullough, is available at the Senior Center
from 10am—2pm on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. The fee is $25 per visit unless you have a diagnosis that allows your insurance to cover routine foot care. Appointments are required. Please call the Senior Center at 978-762-0208 to book an appointment.

DCOA Raffle
The Quilting Angels of the DCOA led by Marsha Gadzera have recently made a beautiful full/queen quilt to be raffled to benefit the Friends of the Danvers council on Aging. Raffle tickets will be available June—October 9th. Tickets are $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00. Stop by the senior center to view
the quilt and to purchase your raffle tickets. Winner will be drawn on Thursday,
October 9th during the town-wide Open House.

Birthday Lunch
Wednesday, July 9th. Birthday lunches are held the 2nd Wednesday of the month. If you are cele-brating a birthday during the month of July, lunch is on us! Call and register by 10 am July 8th.

Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days of Summer are Back!
We are happy to announce the 3rd Annual Lobster Roll Day provided by the North Shore Elder Services Nutrition Program. Please join us on Wednes-day, July 23rd for Lobster Salad on a roll, Cole Slaw, Lettuce, Tomato and a cookie!! Alternate meal choice of Turkey Salad is available. Please make your reservation for a meal by Friday, July18th. Don’t delay, this could be a sellout!!!

Food Stamps
You may be eligible to receive Food Stamps! Food Stamp Applications are available at the front desk. You can also go to www.mass.gov/dta. If you have any questions filling out the application, please call Sharon at 978-762- 0208, Mon & Wed from 8:30am—2:30pm.

Lifetime Enrichment Award
Any Danvers senior, age 60 and older, interested in exploring new horizons, is encouraged to apply. for the Lifetime Enrichment Award (formerly Senior Scholar Award Program)
