Not for beginners. Six classes for intermediate painters to enhance
painting skills. Paint in transparent and opaque
watercolor…still life, photo work, and portrait. Additional

Decorative Painting 10 AM-Noon Jeanette Lerner Cost: $35
Beginners Welcome. No previous painting experience necessary. In
this two hour workshop you will learn a few simple
brush strokes to create a ceramic planter (picture & sample available
at the front desk). Instructor will bring all supplies for
this class and you will leave with a finished product.

Session I: Last Call: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition by Daniel
Okrent. This book explores the politics of Prohibition;
how the 18th Amendment, banning the manufacture, sale, or transport
of intoxicating beverages, was pushed through after
one of the most sustained and brilliant pressure-group campaigns
in our history. Session II: The Help by Kathryn Stockett
Set during the civil right movement, Eugenia Skeeter is home from
college in 1962. She begins to collect stories of the black
women the country club sets relies and mistrusts. Session III:
Will in the World: How Shakespeare Became Shakespeare
by Stephen Greenblatt. This biography will enable you to see,
hear, and feel how an acutely sensitive and talented boy
surrounded by the Elizabethan life; full of drama and pageantry,
and also cruelty and danger; could have become the world’s
greatest playwright. Session IV: To Be Announced .

Painting Studio 1-3 PM Virginia Hill, Facilitator
Cost: $35.00 Do you need more time to work on your paintings? Do
you not have
the room at home? Do you need a committed time to
work on your project? We are offering a 6 week session for
you to come to the senior center art studio to work on your
individual projects. There will be no instruction but Virginia
will be available if you need any critique or assistance. Limited

THURSDAY EVENINGS
Decorative Painting 5-7 PM – Jeanette Lerner Cost: $55/$75
For Beginners!!!! Learn to paint flowers in the
beautiful colors of fall, along with leaves.
In this 6 week
course students
will
be taught to properly load a flat brush to
create blending, shading and highlighting to
your piece.
Water based
Acrylic paints
will be used. The fall theme will be painted
on a wooden tray of choice with a little antiquing
for
that Tuscan
look. This
tray
is sealed for daily use and display with your
fall décor.
Supply list will be provided at time of registration.

Watercolor Class
Jim Kerr is back from North Carolina to teach a 3 week class in Watercolor
Painting. This is a great opportunity to sharpen your skills.
Class will meet Fridays, August 20, 27 & September 3, 2010 from

AM-12 Noon. Cost is $30.00 per person. Class is limited to 8.
Decorative Painting Class for Beginners
No previous painting experience necessary. In this two hour program
you will learn a few simple brush strokes to paint a sunflower
on a
terra cotta pot. Sample pot is available for you to see at the
Senior
Center. Jeanette Lerner, Instructor, will bring all the supplies
necessary
for this class and you will leave with a finished product!!! Thursday,

Personal Safety Class
In this 2 week session Jo Hattendorf will teach you the 5 principles
of
safety as well as verbal skills that you can use anytime, anywhere

with people you know, strangers on the street, or while traveling.

Jewelry Class
Have you always wanted to create jewelry? Blueberry Hill in Beverly
is sponsoring a class to make jewelry. You will learn how to
make
Shrinky Dink Jewelry. A light lunch will be served. Transportation
